Our work:

We write and publish our own books

– we take such books through all the stages from conception to research, writing, design, production, printing, marketing and distribution.  This is interesting and very satisfying but of course we don’t do everything – we contract out most of this work to some of the top experts in the UK.  Our books are popular and successful.

Our own books are team efforts.

We very much believe in involving and seeking help and expertise from other people and local paddlers.  For example, our highly successful ‘Pub Paddles’ had over 100 contributors. We’ve been delighted by the support and contributions from our readers and are always keen to hear suggestions for improvements and updates – any significant contributor receives a credit and a complementary copy of the book.

We create and publish Best Selling maps

In the last few years our small team have built up a lot of expertise at producing clear user-friendly maps.  If you need a map for special purposes please contact us.

We publish books for other people.   An example is Stuart Miller’s award winning ‘Canoe and Kayak Guide to North West England’.  If you have a book you would like to see published then we may be able to help – if we don’t think your book will fit into our range of books then we can, if you wish, advise you how to publish it yourself.

 Other Work

Where commissioned, we produce, publish, and write articles and leaflets on canoeing and adventure travel.  These have been for national and international governmental bodies, private companies and magazines.  We also act as expert advisers and have appeared on several national and international television and radio productions.

 Our Ethos

We believe in ethical business, straight dealing, and try where possible to use local and UK companies.
